Bank of England Keeps Bank Rate Steady at 3.75 Percent
The Monetary Policy Committee voted 6-3 to maintain the benchmark rate as officials evaluate the inflationary impact of rising energy prices.

The Bank of England maintained the Bank Rate at 3.75% during its September meeting, with three committee members favoring a 25 basis point hike. Policymakers noted that UK inflation reached 3.1% in August, largely driven by energy market volatility linked to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and elsewhere.
The central bank also announced a multi-year plan to reduce its holdings of government bonds to zero by the end of 2034. Traders are observing these developments as the Committee remains prepared to adjust policy should inflation pressures escalate further.
